Continuing Education Continuing Education Committee Members Education is a key principle of our chapter. A great opportunity to make a difference in a PM’s professional life and help them achieve the next level of excellence. Select education locations, build curriculum and coordinate logistics needed for educational offerings. Bi-weekly team conference calls, remote volunteer work. 5 Ongoing
Operations Operations Committee Members Help the chapter run more smoothly. Assist with budget preparation, metrics definition, process mapping, special projects (BOD handbook refresh),etc. 7 Ongoing
Communications Newsletter Team Member Our monthly newsletter is widely distributed. We need a volunteer to help with editing for length, grammar, and tone. Ability and commitment to work under tight deadlines. Good eye for printed materials. Source, edit, and coordinate newsletter content Varies Ongoing
Communications Content traffic Team Member Are you a good liaison and have good follow-through? There are lots of new things going on with the chapter and we have to manage the communication requests. You will monitor incoming e-mails and content request forms. Strong organizational skills for e-mail/phone communication and follow-up between various teams. Proofreading, light editing. Send content that needs moderate editing to Editorial/PR team. Ensure event/initiative communications are sanctioned by Leadership. Varies Ongoing
Communications Editorial/PR Team Member Do you work well with others? Do you have good skills in writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and spelling and the ability to negotiate? Then you have found a great place to volunteer. You should understand basic marketing communication principles and how they relate to news; work with Leadership to manage events/programs to plan and schedule articles and announcements for distribution via Communications; write/edit the articles and announcements. Programs Chapter meeting volunteers We all love our chapter meetings - and you can help run one of them! Join a team of volunteers who make the event run smoothly. Would you like to work the registration desk or emcee the event or find speakers? There are plenty of opportunities to help. Varies Ongoing
Marketing VP of Branding Like marketing? Let your skills in organizational branding shine as you promote the brand of SNEC-PMI. You will work with internal members and with external organizations and encompass all marketing channels for SNEC-PMI (web, promotional material, printed communications and electronic communications). Portfolio Communications Website Content Like to work with Websites? The Membership page needs a redo. Propose changes, review, coordinate implementation with the SNEC Webmaster. 3 4
Portfolio Communications Writer Are you a convincing writer? SNEC needs you to help us rewrite the Membership Benefits document. This is an important part of helping volunteers determine the portfolios where they want to spend their time. 4 4
Membership Services Business Intelligence Do you like to perform data analysis? Help us figure out the new initiatives for SNEC using membership information and surveys results to provide actionable recommendations for our chapter. 3 Ongoing
Mentoring Project Manager Do you have PM experience? Want to help the chapter with our program to support new PMs? We need someone to support annual pairing, organize, and review the mentor-mentee applicants. We also need someone to revise the current mentoring materials and conduct mentor-mentee training events. 5+ Ongoing
Communications Photographer If you are good with a camera or video camera, this is the place for you! We need someone to help us document our monthly meetings and events. Come join the fun and show off your skills. Varies Ongoing
Special Events Project Manager Are you a seasoned Project Manager who would like to get more involved with SNEC? Do you need more PDUs? Are you short on cash but have time to volunteer? GOOD NEWS! We are in need of new volunteers for our Special Events programs. As a PM of this program, you will interview for possible presenters, arrange event logistics, PM & attend the event and earn PDUs! 5+ Ongoing
Outreach PM for Project Management "Professional Development Day-in-a-Box" Project We’re looking for a volunteer PM for a very special Corporate Outreach project. In support of its mission to promote the project management profession, the business benefits of project management maturity and the value of SNEC-PMI as a partner to the business community – the SNEC Outreach Committee is seeking to develop a Project Management "Professional Development Day-in-a-Box" - which area businesses can leverage as a toolkit to assist with planning and delivery of their very own day of professional development for project management staff in their organizations. SNEC’s years of experience with running the annual conference, monthly chapter meetings, and special events presents a unique opportunity for any organization that employs project managers to benefit from SNEC’s best practices, subject matter expertise and re-usable content. 10-12 2-4
Outreach PM for "SNEC-PMI Professional Awards" Program Every year, PMI recognizes excellence, innovation and hard work by project professionals and organizations globally through its "Best of the Best in Project Management" professional awards. The Outreach Committee is looking for a PM to lead the development and implementation of a similar awards program for individuals and organizations who are advancing the project management profession locally within Southern New England. 8-10 Ongoing
Outreach Education Outreach Steering Committee Members Through grants, programs, scholarships, tailored curriculum and free resources, the PMI Educational Foundation (www.pmief.org) enables primary, secondary and higher-educational institutions to bring the benefits and the power of project management life skills to students of all ages. In order to effectively harness the growing collection of free resources from PMIEF, SNEC is looking for multiple, committed volunteers to form a new sub-committee to spearhead and direct the implementation of Education Outreach projects here in Southern New England. 8-16 Ongoing
Outreach Non-Profit Outreach Steering Committee Members The PMI Educational Foundation (www.pmief.org) also promotes local training opportunities, tools and methodologies and project management maturity resources for use by Non-Profit Organizations. In order to effectively harness the free resources from PMIEF, SNEC is looking for multiple, committed volunteers to form a new sub-committee to spearhead and direct the implementation of Non-Profit Outreach projects here in Southern New England. 8-16 Ongoing
