The Southern New England Chapter is Restructuring!

As you know, SNEC has been growing rapidly over the years. We are the 4th largest chapter in our region. In order to remain a great organization the Board needs to be strategic while ensuring that we continue to operate efficiently.  We have decided to restructure our organization in order to achieve this goal and we need the SNEC membership’s help and support.

Please see all of the restructuring details in the Restructuring Process and Transition Plan - note that SNEC members will need to be signed in to the web site in order to retrieve this document.

The first phase of implementing the new structure will happen in November, 2007.  The Board will start appointing Vice President and Assistant Vice President positions for existing and new operational roles. If you are interested, please contact the SNEC Volunteer Advocate Committee via email at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The second phase will be after the Chapter Bylaws have been approved by PMI and then by the SNEC membership.  We will setup the Portfolios and use the new election/appointment process for the Board of Directors in the April 2008 elections.  The membership will vote on the updated Chapter Bylaws in a special portion of the chapter dinner meeting on January 16, 2008.

The Board is very excited about this new structure and we need member support to implement it.  If you have any questions or comments, please go the SNEC Community Forum and participate in the “SNEC is Restructuring” discussion under the SNEC Chapter Announcements & Feedback forum.

Please support this effort by reading the process and plan, participating in the discussion on the Community Forum and voting in support of the updated Chapter Bylaws in the special meeting in January.  Thank you!

Sincerely,

The SNEC Board of Directors (2007-2008)
