A Runner’s Guide to Project Management Development
By Jane Brockway, MBA, PMP
Becoming a well rounded, skilled project manager is a long-term process. In this presentation, Ms. Brockway applies concepts learned from training to run 5K and half marathon races to an approach to project management development. This presentation also stresses the personal nature of the development process – the importance of marrying the talents and opportunities each person brings with them to realistic development goals.

Ms. Brockway has spent most of her 25+ year career in the insurance industry focused on technology and project management. She has held a variety of positions including leading projects and programs, managing project portfolios, building project management teams, and managing operational areas. Her project and program management experience spans IT architecture and infrastructure initiatives through development and introduction of business products and services.

WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event that inclement weather is forecast for the day of the event, a cancellation decision will be made by 10:00 AM that day. If the event is cancelled, registered participants will be notified of the cancellation via an email broadcast. We will also endeavor to get meeting cancellation notices broadcast by local media. Notification of the re–scheduled event will also be communicated via an email broadcast. If the meeting is cancelled, registered participants will be notified of the cancellation via an email broadcast. We will also endeavor to get meeting cancellation notices broadcast by local media. Participants who have pre-registered and paid for the cancelled meeting will receive credit towards the re-scheduled meeting (if held within 2 weeks from the cancelled date) or a future meeting.
If a decision is made to hold the meeting, our normal cancellation policy (above) will be in effect, i.e. no refunds or credits issued for cancellations or no-shows after the registration deadline. | |
