When are chapter meetings held?
Our regular chapter dinner meetings are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, beginning in September. Each dinner meeting combines a short SNEC-PMI business/announcements, a main speaker on a topic of interest to Project Management professionals, and often an optional half-hour educational session. For those who hold PMP designation, we award PDUs for these contact hours.
Our season runs from September through June, we take the month of December off in observance of the holidays. We charge a nominal fee to cover the cost of the dinner.
Each May is our annual business meeting where we announce the results of our annual elections, review by-laws, and other chapter business. There is no speaker and no fee for chapter members. In 2005, we held the business meeting at our PM Conference, and based on positive feedback will likely continue this practice.
Additionally, starting in February 2006 we began offering Breakfast meetings around the state. These low-cost meetings offer participants a breakfast, time for networking, and a hour or ninety minute presentation. Again, PDUs are awarded to those holding a PMP.
In December 2006, we offered our first lunch-time, brown bag Webinar. This was an exciting new concept which allows us to offer a PUD earning "virtual" meeting to our members.
In 2006-2007, Programs plans to offer 9 dinner meetings, 11 breakfast meetings, and 2 weekend meetings.
