Election Overview
The SNEC election process timing is changing to align with the calendar year operations, specifically our strategy and budgeting processes. We have structured theelection process such that the incoming Board of Director’s will have a longer transition period with existing board members, and experience and be part of the strategic planning and budgeting process. Terms of office are two years, beginning in January. The Board is structured so that at least two people have responsibility for each major function and serve overlapping terms so there is always opportunity for mentoring and transition.
We are beginning our call for candidates interested in serving our community on the SNEC Board of Directors:
- Are you ready to demonstrate your leadership skills supporting our PM profession?
- Do you want to help make the SNEC the best organization it can be?
- Are you interested in running for the Board?
- Are you a member in good standing?
It’s time to consider your leadership qualities and experience that you can bring to strengthen our Board of Directors and the SNEC Chapter. It is our volunteer leaders that make a difference in our community and our region. You can be one of those leaders!
Qualifications
If you are interested in running for office, you must be a member in good standing of both PMI and the SNEC-PMI chapter according to PMI's national records (meaning, are your dues payments up-to-date?). You may run for and hold only one position. You can nominate yourself (which is what most people do) or nominate someone else (just be sure to get their OK first). Often our officers have previously served on one of our operational committees.
Check out the Job Descriptions for requirements and duties the Board of Director positions have to offer. Also see the Election Time Line to view the process that the Chapter follows.
